I'm drawn to what slips from view:
a shadow that shifts over the course of a day and vanishes, the fatigue settled into a thing, memory, an earlier self.
I don't depict the object — I try to look closely into its trace and hold it gently. I try different materials, working through limitation and quiet repetition, until a form surfaces on its own out of emptiness or what remains.
It stays incomplete, and a tenderness is hidden in that: I would rather stay close to what slips away than preserve it.
